Last September Al and I went to the islands of Oahu and Kauai in Hawaii. For me, it was a long awaited trip. I've wanted to go to Hawaii since I was in junior or senior high school. Growing up in Upstate New York, I never thought it would ever happen. I was only a little country girl and Hawaii seemed a million miles away. Last September I finally made it. I took so many pictures, I don't even know where to begin.
I have always admired sunset pictures and had a lot of fun trying to capture a few of my own Hawaiian sunsets. This one was taken September 20th, on our 1st night in Oahu. I still had stars in my eyes with the realization I was actually here!!
I continued to take sunset pictures almost every night, hoping to capture the "perfect" one. These were also taken in Oahu.
These last two were taken from our hotel in Kauai. One was taken on our first night there, about 1/2 way through our 10-day vacation. The other picture is taken from another location at the hotel and was my last Hawaiian sunset as we left for home the next day.
We obviously had a lot of other beautiful scenery and things to take pictures of while we were there. We saw several of these cute little Red-Crested Cardinals on both islands.
We saw other interesting birds, but the pictures were not that great. On both islands there were wild chickens everywhere.
And, of course, the views were one spectacular scene

I saw your 1,000,000 pictures after you returned from Hawaii!I don't know how you whittled it down to just a few to share on your blog--- there were so many gorgeous photos to choose from! There's one I think you should enlarge (no, not the chicken) because it's majestic and reminds me of where this beauty really comes from---God. It's the third pic from the bottom. The dark mountains, the clouds, and the sun rays streaming through an opening in the clouds. Magnificent! Thanks for sharing these (o:

Hi, it's me again (o: Just thought I'd go back and enjoy these breathtaking photos. Have you chosen any for matting and framing?
Love you!
Sherri
Thanks again Sherri. No...I haven't chosen any yet. A while back I did buy a collage type frame that holds about 6 pictures. I purchased it with the plan of putting a collage of sunset pictures. I still plan to do that.
